Our primary concern is our clients’ long-term legal and financial well-being, and that is what drives us. Every client relationship goes beyond the professional; our clients are, or become, our friends and family, and we treat them that way.

Spillman&Partners was founded in 2015 by Managing Partner Christopher E. Spillman. Chris has been a practicing attorney for 13 years, starting at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago in 2006. He also served in an in-house general counsel and chief financial officer role with a business services company for six years before starting the Firm. In his career, Chris has represented family businesses, technology companies, private equity firms, and others in an array of matter types, including especially in numerous commercial and corporate transactions. His contract negotiation and drafting experience ranges from employment agreements to stock purchase agreements, from software licensing to offshore services arrangements, and many other applications in between.

Julie Arrington has been a licensed Virginia attorney for nine years, beginning with a two-year clerkship for the Honorable Robert J. Smith of the Fairfax County Circuit Court. From there, Julie began her practice in litigation, and the negotiation and drafting skills from those years inform her present day corporate and transactional practice. Since moving to the transactional side of practice, she has experience in real estate, business, banking, entity formation and corporate transactions, with drafting and negotiating experience to meet the needs of her business and corporate clients.

Jenny Villier has been practicing since 2004 and is licensed in Colorado, Illinois and Missouri. Jenny began her career as a tax attorney at Winston & Strawn in Chicago. She later joined the private equity practice group at Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago, followed by Perkins Coie in Denver. In addition to the practice of law, Jenny has served as an adjunct professor at Temple University School of Law in Tokyo, and DePaul University College of Law in Chicago. She has experience in entity formation, corporate transactions, commercial contracts, tax, compliance, privacy, and employment matters. She is currently serving as General Counsel of a mid-sized legal software company, WealthCounsel, LLC.

Spillman and Partners are an invaluable asset and we consider them to be part of our legal team. I am particularly impressed by how they are taking the lead in complex M&A and capital restructuring transactions and shepherd it through from start to finish.”

Vladi Kuschnerov • Senior Vice President, Corporate Development

“Not only did principal attorney Chris Spillman have depth and breadth of experience in the most important areas of corporate structure and ownership, employment agreements, executive compensation, and governance, but he was also very accessible, responsive, and insightful.  The fact that Spillman & Partners are also very cost-conscience on behalf of startup and growing companies is a very welcome bonus”
